AOP's 2010 Annual Meeting
On June 10, 2010, AOP held it's 43rd Annual Meeting. We were joined by friends, volunteers, and Elder Friendly business representatives for a look back at the past year. We'd like to thank everyone who attended, and for those who were unable, here's what you missed:
BOARD ELECTIONS:
The following persons, previously elected to the Board of Directors, were
re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors with their terms to expire
in:
2011: Judith Kessler, Mark Johnson, Denise Mughetti and Caroline Vadala
2012: Nora Bush, Leah Cunningham, Sharon Galli, Suzann Koehler, Greg Lesko,
Marge Menart and Janet Vanek
2011: Donna Gavula will serve as a non-voting, community-representative-at-large
advisor to the Board of Directors through 2011.
The following persons were elected to serve on the Board of Directors for a three-year term to expire in 2013: Paul Gould & Christopher Marion
The following slate of officers was elected for the 2010-2011 term:
President - Mark Johnson
Vice-President – Nora Bush
Secretary - Janet Vanek
Treasurer – Suzann Koehler

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION:
The Henry E. Beach Memorial Award is presented annually to an outstanding
volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional service to older adults in Broome
County through one or more of Action for Older Persons, Inc.’s programs.
The 2010 Henry E. Beach Award is being presented to Margaret Culver. Margaret
has been a HIICAP volunteer at AOP for five years. In 2009 the HIICAP program
served over 900 individuals with counseling appointments and Margaret personally
counseled 105 of them. With a total of 877.75 hours put in by HIICAP staff
and volunteers, Margaret’s share totaled 100.25 hours. Because of her dedicated
service to AOP’s programs and her other volunteer projects, she has been
improving the lives of older adults in Broome County through her efforts.
