On September 10, 2010, Action for Older Persons is offering
a free medicine collection event to promote environmentally safe disposal
of all medications.
Spread the word to your friends and family!
Join us in this important effort to protect your health, your children’s
and grandchildren’s health, our community and the environment.
WHAT TO BRING TO THE COLLECTION SITE:
Expired or unwanted prescription medicines, vitamins, herbals, over the
counter medicines and veterinary medicines.
* DO NOT bring thermometers, needles, medical wastes.
* NO pharmaceutical business wastes will be accepted.

Action for Older Persons (AOP) is an innovative and visionary organization that enhances the lives of adults and empowers them to prepare for the future. The mission of Action for Older Persons, Inc. is to assist individuals by providing timely, accurate, and unbiased information in preparation for aging. AOP educates and collaborates to promote quality of life through the aging process for older adults, their families and caregivers. AOP is a private, non-profit, United Way member agency which was founded in 1967.

AOP is funded by membership contributions, Broome County United Way, program income, fundraising, and various government and private foundation grants.
Action for Older Persons sponsors and organizes community education programs, workshops, computer classes, and seminars for both the public and professionals. Topics include:

Elder Services Guide
AOP also maintains a comprehensive directory of services for midlife and older adults in Broome County, the Broome County Elder Services Guide. Copies of the printed Guide are available at AOP's offices and from the Broome County Office for Aging. The online Guide is available at www.broomeelderservices.org.
